The Search Filters section showed how you can use the SearchControls argument to select the attributes that are returned with entries in a search operation. You can use this argument also to control other aspects of the search. Following are the available controls:Returning Java objects is described in the Java Objects and the Directory trail. JNDI links are described in the Beyond the Basics trail.
- The attributes to return
- The scope in which the search is to occur
- The maximum number of entries to return
- The maximum number of milliseconds to wait
- Whether to return the Java object associated with the entry
- Whether JNDI links are dereferenced during the search
